We Maintain 66 Miles of the Appalachian Trail in Southwest Virginia

Piedmont Appalachian Trail Hikers, better known as PATH, is one of 30 trail clubs that works in coordination with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and federal, state, and local land managers to maintain the Appalachian Trail. Our section starts at Teas Road in Sugar Grove, Virginia and extends north to I-77 in Bland, Virginia. Notable features of our section include Mount Rogers Visitor Center, Settler's Museum, I-81 Crossing, the ¼ or ¾ way point for thru-hikers, Chestnut Ridge, Burke's Garden, five shelters, numerous views, and more.

PATH is a welcoming group of volunteers that likes to hike with tools, dig in the Virginia dirt, and celebrate a successful workday with a good meal. PATH organizes monthly work trips on the third full weekend of every month from March through October, holds an annual meeting and potluck every November, and much more. We’d love to have you join us!
